SMB Diver is a practical course focused on the safe and confident use of surface marker buoys in real diving situations. It teaches divers how to deploy and manage an SMB with control, good buoyancy, and clear awareness, whether at depth, during ascent, or at the surface.
Rather than treating SMB use as a quick add-on skill, the course builds calm, repeatable technique. Divers learn how to prepare equipment properly, manage lines and reels, control buoyancy while deploying the SMB, and handle task loading without losing awareness or stability.
SMB Diver improves safety, confidence, and surface visibility, especially in open water, drift diving, or areas with boat traffic. The result is a skill that feels deliberate and controlled, becoming a natural part of the dive rather than something that disrupts it.
